We’re the Best—Because We Care.

At Agape Allen’s Foundation, compassion drives everything we do. We go beyond programs and services—we build relationships, nurture potential, and truly care about every life we touch.

I was born in Mobile, Alabama. I attended college at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree both in Mental Retardation. I began my teaching career at Citronelle High School in Citronelle, Alabama. I moved to North Carolina in September of 1996 and started teaching school (Exceptional Children -Resource) at Knox Middle School in Salisbury, NC. I am currently in my 38th year of teaching in North Carolina. I am an ordained minister with the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church and the pastor of Providence A.M.E. Zion Church (15 years) in Salisbury, NC. I started my company (The Agape’ Allen’s Foundation LLC and The Agape’ Allen’s Foundation II (nonprofit).

Companies are to assist individuals with disabilities to become productive members of society.

I obtained a Business Degree from Stark State College of Technology in 1998. When I was younger, my Aunt owned a group home in Ohio and because of this. I was exposed to this population at an early age. From that, I have always had a love and passion for working with this population. I began working at a group home with mentally challenged young ladies shortly before moving to Charlotte, and I knew I had found my calling. Once I moved to Charlotte, I began working as an Exceptional Children Assistant at Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools in 2006. I served severe and profound students at Metro School in both SAC and AU classrooms for 12 years. I transferred to Hopewell High School in 201,8 where I currently work in the Extensions program with transition students.

Working with this population can sometimes be a challenge, but the rewards are far greater.

My journey began at Livingstone College, where I earned a degree in Business Administration. Like many, I wasn’t sure at first where my passion truly lay—until my junior year, when I began working at a group home for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From the moment I stepped into that environment, I knew I had found my purpose. For over 15 years, I’ve been dedicated to serving individuals with special needs, providing care, support, and advocacy tailored to each person’s unique strengths and challenges. In 2009, I moved back to Charlotte and joined the team at Metro School—a specialized educational setting serving nearly 250 students with cognitive disabilities, ages 3 to 22. This experience has reinforced my commitment to creating inclusive spaces where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Through the Agape Allen’s Foundation, I continue this mission with passion, purpose, and a deep belief that every person—regardless of ability—deserves opportunity, dignity, and an excellent quality of life.

Working with this population bring me so much pleasure and delight.
