I was born and raised in Canton, Ohio (GO BUCKEYES. I obtained a Business Degree from Stark State College of Technology in

1998. When I was younger, my Aunt owned a group home in Ohio and because of this. I was exposed to this population at an early age. From that, I have always had a love and passion for working with this population. I began working at a group home with mentally challenged young ladies shortly before moving to Charlotte, and I knew I had found my calling. Once I moved to Charlotte, I began working as an Exceptional Children Assistant for Charlotte Mecklenburg schools in 2006. I served severe and profound students at Metro School in both SAC and AU classrooms for 12 years. I transferred to Hopewell High School in 2018 where I currently work in the Extensions program with transition students.

Working with this population can sometimes be a challenge, but the rewards are far greater.

I was born in Charlotte NC. I graduated from Livingstone College with a Business Administration Degree, but I wasn't sure what my passion was. My junior year in college, I started working at a group home with mentally challenged individuals. My first day on the job I knew this was my calling and I have been working with mentally challenged and individuals with special needs for over 15+ years. In 2009, I moved back to charlotte and started working at Metro School. Metro School serves approximately 250 students all of whom are cognitively disabled, ranging from 3 to 22 in age.

Working with this population bring me so much pleasure and delight.
